Katherine McCarthy (Terry)

Katharine M. Katy Credentialed Alcoholism & Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) Died on August 17, 2000 at home, after battling cancer for over two years. Katy was predeceased by her father John C. McCarthy and brother John F. McCarthy. She is survived by her loving mother, Katharine Kay McCarthy of Bethany Manor; husband, Donald S. Terry; daughter, Elizabeth Terry of Elmira; sons, David (Julia) Terry, of Kenmore, NY, and Sean G. Terry of Elmira; brother, James G. (Carol) McCarthy, of Roanoke, VA; sister, Margaret Peg McCarthy of High Prairie, Alberta, Canada; sister-in-law, Tina F. McCarthy of Bel Air, MD; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, T. Richard (Theresa) Terry, of Port St. Lucie, FL and June (John) Culkin, of Schenectady, NY; thirteen nieces and nephews and twelve great-nieces and great-nephews. Friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, corner of Water and Walnut Sts., on Sunday, August 20, 2000 from 12:00 to 2:00 P.M. or 7:00 to 8:45 P.M. A Prayer Service will follow calling hours at 8:45 P.M. Interment at St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery will be at the convenience of the family. Katy was a graduate of Elmira Free Academy and SUNY Albany and served as Program Manager of the ADAC Family Program, which she developed in 1984. She was active in the Big Flats PTO, Horseheads School Board from 1986 - 1989), Task Force on Children and Families, Family Violence Committee and the Task Force on Women and Alcohol. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Katy's name may be directed to ADAC, 451 E. Market St., Elmira NY 14901; Falck Cancer Center, 600 Roe Avenue, Elmira NY 14905 or Southern Tier Hospice, 244 W. Water St., Elmira NY 14901

Oh, Katy... I'm so sorry to hear you've died. You were a good person and a great friend. I was looking forward to seeing you at the reunion.

Rae Walsh (Tomasky)

Joanne moylan was a good friend of Katy,s and we spent fun summers on Keuka lake.
