Got out of Elmsford at the first chance and headed to the southwest (New Mexico). Lots of sun, sand and mountains. Started off working with the electrical union there but work ended up dieing down and I didn't like the idea of being unemployed. I started my own electrical company and had it for over ten years. The money was good and hours long and the kids were arriving at a steady pace. I absolutely hated working the long hours and being to tired to do anything with them. I slowly shut it down and only took on small jobs here and there and eventualy was hired on by Intel corporation. To be honest Things were pretty much alright I'm a proud father of three boys and I have a great wife. We've lived through the good times and bad and met lots of great people along the way. After living in New Mexico for ten or so years we up rooted and moved to Ireland (not a move for the faint hearted). Get this now, I sold everything I owned, Jeep, dirtbikes, camper, 60" TV, tools, 5 bed four bath house and moved a wife, three kids, myself and two dogs halfway around the world to a two bedroom cottage on a half acre in Co. Westmeath Ireland(what the ____ was I thinking)Remember the show Green Acres? How about a town called Mayberry? That's right you guessed it I now hang out in a little country village called Coole. We have one pub, a corner store, farm/post office as well as a small school house with 3 teachers. I have to be honest I spent over a year saying to myself what have I done and why did we do this, I miss my toys, I miss the extra cash all that sort of stuff. I still miss it sometimes but there is somthing about the Irish countryside that your gonna miss if you leave. That would be the 5 to 10 minute conversation with Mel when picking up a pint of milk or walking into Meehans pub and and having a good laugh with the locals, Having my neighbor Milo walk into my house with a good bit of gossip about nothing much and getting in a little late to work because I was slowed down by one of the farmers moving his cows to a different field. Quality or quantity which do you choose? Who knows maybe we'll stay....... or head back to the USA. I don't know if I'll make the reunion but I wish you all well. It would be great to see some other profiles filled in and pictures added.
Let see what the years did to us all(we all need a good laugh). Hopefully we will all cross paths again. Cheers...
