Classmates,
For our 35th reunion, we will be having a 2 day casual and laid-back tailgating event. We have rented American Legion Post #347 located at 3471 Shepherd Rd., Elon, 27244 for Friday, Sept. 13 and Saturday, Sept. 14 - so come as you are....when you can....and as often as you want. Our schedule is light, but the general plan is as follows:
Friday, Sept. 13:
Noon - 5:00pm
Pre-game beginning at noon. We will be hanging out at Shepherd Rd, so come by when you can.
5:00pm - 7:00pm
Football tailgating (Shepherd Rd). We will have beer for $1/can or bottle, but you are welcome to bring your own beverages of choice. We will have pizza available and you can bring snacks/tailgating food to share.
7:30pm
Football game at WAHS vs Graham. Our class will sit together for the game.
Post-game
Back to Shepherd Rd. for a post-game gathering.
Saturday, Sept. 14:
Noon - midnight (or until everyone leaves - if you leave at all) at Shepherd Rd.
Hanging out together - no planned agenda other than a DJ and dinner.
Dinner will be catered at 6:00pm by Hursey's BBQ. Dinner will include: chicken, BBQ, slaw, baked beans, mac and cheese, buns, hushpuppies and tea.
We will have beer/water/soda available for $1/can or bottle for the entire weekend, but as mentioned, please feel free to bring your own beverage(s) of choice.
If you are interested in golfing 9-holes superball on Sunday, Sept. 15, please contact Belinda Blackwood at bb4him@gmail.com by Saturday, Aug. 17.
What you need to do:
1) RSVP to let us know you are coming and if you are bringing someone.
2) Bring your tailgating chairs and any tailgate games (corn-hole, etc.).
3) Bring pictures of your family (if you want to).
4) Pay $25/person in advance or at the door to cover the charges.
5) Bring snacks/foods to share along with serving-ware (We will provide paper plates, cups, napkins, plastic-ware).
6) Bring your own coolers for your beverages in case there isn't enough room in the refrigerator.
7) Come prepared to relax and enjoy spending time with friends you don't get to see very often.
