Joseph Aaron Doty returned to the arms of a loving Heavenly Father on April 4, 2018. Joseph was born in Long Beach California on June 13, 1972 to Stephen and Lyndell Doty. He moved to Ely in 1985 to live with his dad, Stephen and step mom Donnell Doty. Joseph graduated from White Pine High School in 1990.

Joseph married his soulmate Erin Reed on May 9, 1996. In 2001 he joined the Army and served our country from 2001 to 2005. Joseph went to Kuwait and  Iraq January 2003- Aug 2003. He was a man of amazing integrity and always went above and beyond his call of duty in his life and  his army career. After injuries he suffered in Iraq he got out of the Army a disabled veteran. He came back to Ely for a couple of years, then decided to go back closer to his last duty station in North Carolina.

Joseph is survived by his devoted wife, Erin, two sons; Tayler (daughter-in-law Bianca), Devon, and daughter Makayla, Stepson Ben (Katy), father, Stephen, step mom, Donnell; brothers, Kenny, Stephen (Julie), Jonathan (Amy) and DJ; sisters, Elizabeth Palmer (Paul), Christina Poplin (Louis), numerous nieces, nephews, as well as granddaughter, Kaleigh.

A private military Memorial was held at the home of Erin and Joe on April 10, 2018. Joe was surrounded by family and close friends. Joe will be missed by all. He was such a good man, fun loving, caring, compassionate, and always willing to help.
