LaDonna Kirkwood VIEW PROFILE

…..Upon completion of high school, LaDonna Ray Kirkwood enrolled in Emporia State University, majoring in French and Spanish. She was the college’s mascot during her freshman year and also participated in many other activities. LaDonna was nominated Miss Black Student Union while at Emporia. Perhaps, the most significant thing that happened to LaDonna was her meeting new people and forming loving friendships that endured through her lifetime. The friends that she made at Emporia soon became an extended family for her, and these dear friends sustained and enriched her life.

LaDonna is the cousin to Karen Owens. She is sadly missed.

LaDonna Raye Kirkwood turns 47 years young today......

Thank you, LaDonna, for teaching us how to "endure with joy."

Rest in sweet peace, dear cousin.....

In her honor, as we've done in the past.......please remember to burn a candle all day, and if possible, please donate a pint of blood in memory of her, donate to your local chapter of the Sickle Cell Anemia Foundation (or to the national chapter - www.sicklecelldisease.org) and continue to pray for a cure for Sickle Cell Anemia........

BTW - September is National Sickle Cell Anemia Disease Awareness Month!

Love,

Karen
