Debra Renee Herron  - Born July 1957 and departed this life in July 2006.  She received her Bachelor's Degree in Mass Communication from Emporia State University.  After college, Debbie worked for the Social Security Administration for more than 20 years as a Benefit Authorizer.  She was an advocate for compliance of  the American Disability Act.  Later, she was employed by Dream Makers, a nonprofit organization that provided healthcare to disabled individuals.   Her passion was music, and she had a beautiful voice.  Debbie loved to sing and she sang in many venues, including the Unicorn Dinner Playhouse in Kansas City, Missouri.  At ESU, Debra was initiated into Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and she loved her pink and green!  At ESU, she had many friends; loved to converse, and she always had a smile on her face.
