In Memory

Melanie R Kern

Melanie passed away October 21, 2021 in Nowthen, Anoka County, Minnesota, where she lived and had become an outstanding conservationist.  Very interesting and fun story.  The link is below.  What a great woman!

Melanie was so intelligent and so advanced in her maturity that I always was in awe of her. I never even heard of Interpretive Dancing until I saw her perform in our Flood Talent Show. In Mr Hanlon's Spanish Class at Flood she always received perfect grades in his class while being totally involved in her copy of War and Peace! I especially remember her light blue, beautiful eyes. Rest In Peace Melanie. You definitely led a meaningful life and left a legacy!

I remember Melanie (there were three Melanie's in my fifth grade year at Charles Hay Elementary, one in each classroom) as a creative and independent person.  I recall her dancing around the classroom sometimes, and she had an impressive flair for art. I loved reading about her commitment to conservation and holding space for the wild creatures.
