Jeff Davis got the heck out of Englewood as soon as he could. He earned a degree in Journalism from the University of Kansas, then moved to the Los Angeles area where he worked in publishing until he became disabled. He lived with Golden Girl Bea Arthur for a time, and they remained friends for years. He contracted HIV early in the epidemic, and after becoming disabled by the disease he returned to the Denver area where he lived with his sister, Vickie, until his death. He was an AIDS activist extraordinaire, creating a monthly medical publication for people living HIV/AIDS, and attended the first National Conference on AIDS at Pres. Clinton's invitation. He laughed too loud, loved music and dance, valued the relationships he had with his friends and family members above all else, left a legacy of the love of education and action, lived life as fully as any human being, and is missed every single day by those who knew him best. He died in September 1996 at the age of 35.

Thank you, Sarah,

I knew only a little of Jeff's story, and how remarkable he was.  It is a shame he left us too early.
