Asheville - Stoney T. Burris, 46, of Starnes Cove Road, died Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2005, at a local hospital.

A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, Mr. Burris was a foreman for Bell South. He was an avid race fan and loved to hunt and fish.

Mr. Burris was a son of the late Bobby Burris and Betty Pike Burris. Two brothers, Donald and Todd Burris, also preceded him in death.

Mr. Burris is survived by his wife, Kathy Myers Burris; brothers, Tony Burris and Perry Burris; and beloved dogs, Stoney T. and Candy.

Graveside rites will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Flint Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Wesley Pike will officiate.
