MIKE WIX

Mike Wix, 48, Brandenburg, died July 5, 2006. He was born on Oct. 17, 1957, in Asheville, N.C., the son of Fred McSwain Wix Jr., Asheville, N.C., and the late Mary (Vaughn) Wix.

He was a graduate of Western Carolina University, manager of WMMG radio, owned Wixco Title Company and Equity Mortgage of Louisville, worked for both Meade County and River City banks, was the director of Ned Beatty Classic Memorial Golf Tournament, a member and deacon of Ekron Baptist Church, music leader, and a Kentucky Colonel.

Mr. Wix is survived by his wife, Hope Wix, Brandenburg; a daughter, Jane Marie Wix, Brandenburg; and a brother, Steven Wix, Asheville, N.C.

Funeral services will be held July 8 at 11 a.m. from Ekron Baptist Church, directed by Bruington-Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home. Burial will be in Port Royal Cemetery, Henry County, following a graveside service at 4 p.m. Friends may call at the funeral home July 7, 2-8 p.m., and at Ekron Baptist Church July 8, 9-11 a.m.
