STAKER, Kathleen Marie 34, of Elizabeth City, North Carolina passed away suddenly and peacefully Saturday, June 6, 2009 in Elizabeth City. Kathleen was born August 9, 1974 in Springfield, Ohio to William C. and Susan Ann Staker of Springfield. Kathleen was a member of the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. Kathleen was a graduate of Ashland University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Interior Design, The Art Institute of Pittsburgh, Greenon High School, and attended the American School of London located in London, England. Kathleen was a representative of The Art Institute of Pittsburgh, was a member of her high school varsity tennis team, was a gifted artist, was an avid sports fan and fitness enthusiast, and was a member of the Labrador Retriever Rescue society. She is survived by her parents, grandparents; William C. and Betty M. Staker, of Springfield, a fiancé; Aaron Johnson and his two children; Wyatt Curtis and Gabrielle Leigh Johnson, three brothers; William A. Staker of Springfield, David D. Staker of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Steven C. and Kristi A. Staker of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, a niece, Morgan, five nephews; Allen, Brian, Ian, Caleb and her Godson, Evan, numerous family, friends and her loving labrabor retriever, Carson. Kathleen was preceded in death by her grandparents; Elmo C. and Kathryn E. Jurkat, and a sister-in-law; Jennifer Leigh Staker. Funeral Service will be conducted 10:00 am Saturday, June 13, 2009 in Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1500 Broadway Road, Springfield, with Pastor Stephen Foster officiating. Burial will follow the service in Ferncliff Cemetery. Visitation will be held 2-4 & 6-8 Friday in Adkins Funeral Home, Enon.
