
Charles (Chad) Dean Klahr III, age 58, of North East died on Thursday, October 25, 2007 at home. He was born on August 4, 1949 to C. Dean and Carroll Bacon Klahr of Savannah, Georgia.
He graduated Strong Vincent High School in 1967 and Cornell University in 1971 earning a degree in industrial engineering.
He was a member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. Charles was founder and owner of Erie Energy Products Inc. since 1977. He was a former board member of the Erie Playhouse. He enjoyed music, cooking, and theatre. Charles had a passion for sailing.
Besides his parents survivors include his wife Kathy Vieyra Klahr who he married May 3, 2006; brothers Peter Klahr and wife Janice of Erie and Stephen Klahr and wife Jennifer of Savannah, Georgia; a sister Patricia Klahr and husband Lee Melly of Ketchum, Idaho; a nephew Andrew Klahr or Erie; nieces Autum, Aaron, and Ayla of Savannah, Georgia; Jason, Justin, Jadon, and Jordan Gochoco of Phoenix, Arizona; cats boo boo, puff mommy, baghdaddy, and spiderman.
Private arrangements are being handled by the William D. Elkin Funeral Home 65 South Lake Street North East.
