Andrew DiVecchio

Drew Andrew J. DiVecchio, 48, formerly of Erie, Pa., died Sunday, August 14, 2005 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Drew graduated from Strong Vincent High School in 1975. After managing several businesses, he became a certified working executive chef (CWC Chef). He worked in many establishments in Las Vegas including the Desert Inn, the Mirage, the Sahara Hotel, & Lowrys, and was a personal chef to many celebrities. He was a member of the Culinary Union of Las Vegas, Nevada for 20 years. He was loved and respected by all the chefs of Las Vegas and surrounding community, having been elected executive secretary of the executive chefs of Las Vegas. Drew was the co-chairman of the Chef and Children's program. He loved nine ball, golfing, and teaching children how to cook. In addition to his father Robert J. DiVecchio, he was preceded in death by his son Anthony DiVecchio. Survivors include his mother Angela M. DiVecchio of Las Vegas, Nevada; two brothers, Robert of Las Vegas, Nevada; Mark and his wife Susan of Erie; one sister Anita DiVecchio Bissonnette of Erie; and grandmother Adellina Felix of Fairport, N.Y. Also survived by a great aunt Lee Soccoccio. uncles Joe (Amedio) Felix, Ronald and his wife Ann DiVecchio, John and his wife Grace DiVecchio, and aunt Delores DiVecchio, and three nieces, one nephew and many cousins. Family and friends are invited to a memorial mass at St Paul's Roman Catholic Church, Wednesday, August 24, at 7:00 p.m.
