Mike Niemic

Michael A. "Ange" Niemic, age 52, a resident of Millcreek Twp, passed away Thursday, June 18, 2009, after a brief illness. He was born in Erie, September 6, 1956, a son of the late Regina "Sis" Brugger Niemic and Jack W. Niemic. Mike attended Strong Vincent High School. He was employed for 34 years as maintenance director with the Brugger Funeral Homes, retiring in September of 2008 due to ill health. He enjoyed the outdoors, boating and spending time with friends. He was a member of the Sportsmen Club, and a life member of the Cascade Club. In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by two nephews, Devin and Brendan Niemic. Survivors include his wife Diann Lord Niemic; one sister Kristen L. Kuholski husband John, of Liberty, Ohio; three brothers, Pat Niemic, wife Kathy, of Mission Viejo, Calif, Dennis Niemic, wife Kathy, of Lacombe, La., and Matthew Niemic, wife, Bridget, of Erie; nieces and nephews, Heather, Heidi, Lauren, Caitlin, Cutter, Jack, Gabrielle and Jonathon; his mother-in-law, Orla Lord, of Erie; brothers-in-law, William and David Lord, of Erie; sisters-in-law, Patricia Stephens husband Rob, of Pensacola, Fla. and Mary Ford, husband Phil, of Marietta, Ga.; step-children, Samantha Kuntz, fiance Bill, of Millcreek, Heather Kuntz Patterson, husband Aaron, of Springboro. Also survived by "Grandpa Buddha's" five step-grandchildren, Tiffany, Nicholas, Zachary, Bailey and Cassandra, aunts, uncles and many close friends. Friends may call at the Brugger Home for Funerals, 1595 West 38 Street, Sunday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and may attend services there on Monday at 10:00 a.m., with Rev. Msg. Robert Brugger officiating. Entombment in Mary Queen of Peace Cemetery.
