Jeffery S. Phelps, age 47, residence 428 E. Main Street Corry, formerly of North East, died on Thursday August 23, 2007 at Hamot Medical Center.

He was born on May 1, 1960 in Star Lake, New York, to Alberta Mallette Jenks of North East and the late David Robert Phelps. He attended Clifton Fine Central High School in Star Lake, New York and strong Vincent High School. He served in the United States Navy 1983-1986. Jeffery was employed as an over the road truck driver. He was an eye organ donor.

He was preceded in death by a brother Jimmy Phelps. He is survived by his mother Alberta Mallette Jenks and companion Albert Schultz of North East; Jeffery’s companion Amanda Upton of Corry; daughters Michaela May Phelps of Corry, Katelyn Joy Phelps of Corry; sons James Stewart Phelps of Corry, Dustin Ray Phelps of Corry; brothers David Phelps of Erie, Douglas Phelps of Morrisdale, Pa., Jerry Phelps of Union City, Mark Phelps of Erie; sisters Donna Lawrence and husband Nelson of Gouverneur, N.Y., Boneta Borrero and husband Carl of North East, Carol Weber of Conneaut Lake, Tammy Orton and husband Howard of Brooklyn, Maryland; step-father Michael Jenks of Rochester, New York.

Friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home 65 South Lake Street East on Sunday 7-9 and are invited to attend a funeral service on Monday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Officiating Reverend David Prenatt of St Gregory’s Church. Interment St. Gregory Cemetery. Memorials may be made to children of Jerry Phelps c/o First National Bank of Pennsylvania.
