Jacinto Rojas

Jacinto "Papote" Rojas, 29, of Washington, D.C., died Saturday, May 18, 2002, at his home. He was born Oct. 16, 1972, in Puerto Rico, son of Juanita Torres. He formerly lived in Erie. He worked as an accounting manager for Fannie Mae in Washington. He graduated from Strong Vincent High School in 1990 and attended DeVry University in Columbus, Ohio. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Persian Gulf War. Survivors include two sisters, Rita M. Alicea and her husband, Martin, of Erie and Juanita Rojas Legere and her husband, David, of North Kingsville, Ohio; a brother, David Torres of Erie; his paternal grandmother, Antonia Morales of Puerto Rico; four nephews; and a niece. Friends may call Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Scott Funeral Home, 2104 Myrtle St. A service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Federated Church of East Springfield, 11995 Main St., officiated by the Rev. Ed Huntley. Burial will be at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
