Linda Tuman passed away a couple of days ago. We were best friends from kindergarten through high school, lived a block away from each other, we both had younger sisters the same age. Even as a child, Linda was warm, friendly and generous. We were both Brownies and Girl Scouts, and at "cookie time" we went door to door selling them. (hey, it was Evanston in the late 50's - early 60's, what could go wrong?) She was great at selling, comfortable with people, and always made much more than I did. One time, we pooled our allowances together and bought a kitten from the pet store downtown. We'd planned on sharing it, a couple days at her home, a couple at mine. No thoughts to feeding it, caring for it, hiding it from our moms. The kitten was returned that day, moms didn't agree with us. Whole bunches of good memories are flooding back - wish I could tell her,
