I spent 1972-74 on the Fort Peck Indian Reservation in the northeast corner of Montana as a 1st Leutenant in the srevice providing healthcare to the Sioux and Assiniboine Indian tribes. Quite an experience as you were totally on your own doing general practice immedistely following medical scholl and one year of internship. The doctors were looked upon as experimenting but in reality we were delivering first rate modern healthcare. Did everything: general problems car wrecks, delivering babies, setting fractures, stabbibgs, shootings, a very long way from ETHS but an amazing life changing experience for me. Made you appreciate your training.
