EV Cars (Tesla, etc.) Posted Tuesday, January 12, 2021 10:21 AM Have not taken the leap to full electric yet. Had a Honda Civic Hybrid. Back in 2014 it got 46 MPG. Last year I have had a chance to ride in a Tesla S. It accelerates very fast and the owner, a friend, says it is low maintenance EV cars seem to be more popular evey year. . |

RE: EV Cars (Tesla, etc.) Posted Tuesday, January 12, 2021 10:30 AM Hello Art, I had a Tesla S for three years and now ending my three year lease on ny X. Likely will trade it in for another X, though am thinking of downsizing to a Y. I drove these cars from California to Minnesota six tines over those 5.5 years with no trouble, either with the car or finding charging stations. Great car. Try one.

Hello Jack. There is always a bit of truth in humor. This humorist may or may not own one, but seems a bit of envy in his presentation to me. My Tesla X cost twice as much as any other car I owned. A bit over the top I admit. However, the Tesla is almost as fun to drive as my 1951 Jaguar XK120 roadster. Not a car nut but enjoy a good one. I joke that when I charge my car in my Minneota home it is nuclear powered, but if I charged it three miles away in Wisconsin it would be coal powered. We have a ways to go to solve that problem. Hope you are doing well and staying healthy. Preston

RE: EV Cars (Tesla, etc.) Posted Tuesday, July 26, 2022 08:35 AM I am also a big fan of Tesla and EV's in general. I had a model 3 but am waiting for my model Y to be delivered. However, keep in mind that unless you are using solar power as the source of charging your vehicle, you are actually using fossil fuels to to charge the battery. So not exactly environmentally neutral. That being said, I love my Tesla. So much fun to drive. I really enjoy being next to a car at a stoplight and accelerating to the speed limit and leaving the car next to me in the dust. |

RE: EV Cars (Tesla, etc.) Posted Tuesday, July 26, 2022 09:29 AM Jack: I just watched the video. Hysterical. As Preston indicated there is a lot of truth along with the humor. |

RE: EV Cars (Tesla, etc.) Posted Wednesday, July 27, 2022 11:12 AM Recently picked up my new Tesla S. I wanted another X but could not wait one year for delivery. Soon after delivery I drove the near 2000 mile from California to Minnesota. New Ss have a 400 mile range, 100 miles greater than my 2018 X or my 2015 S. Makes a big difference in long distance driving, though I continue to putter along stopping for recharging more than necessary. Plenty of charge stations along the way and new ones popping up all the time. |
