Plan 2025 and terrible customer service

Anyone else have trouble calling Social Security?  Anyone else feeling like SSA no longer tries to pay us retirees the maximum to which we are entited under the law?  SSA is understaffed and we're the tip of the Baby Boom???

Anyone have any other problems with federal agencies seeming less responsive and/or actually working against fairness under the law?  Example:  A friend got a denial letter without any reason for the denial given.

Biden praise:  Remember he added $$ to the IRS?  Not only did the IRS find an extra $1 BILLION by auditing tax returns of the extremely wealthy - but we regular folks could actually get through when we called this past tax season!

My purpose here is not to get into the weeds of my particular complaint, but to wonder aloud if bad customer service is due to Trump's deliberate efforts to appoint his loyalists to federal jobs (the old patronage system) and if these loyalists have different "values" than the rest of us.  To that end, I am referring everyone to the 7/22/24 issue of the New Yorker magazine, the article "Inside the Trump Plan for 2025."  Alas, I don't have a link, but I will see if I can get one now.  My cousin, bless her heart, gives me the New Yorker, so I don't know if there's a paywall.
