What have you been up to since 1966? What are some highlights of your life so far?

I had a full modern dance career. My career was in movement and older adult wellness and fitness. I liaised my kids in Skokie. I lived in Evanston until the pandemic. I moved to Madison, WI. Because my job in retirement homes was closing up during pandemic.
I now work for Trader Joe’s company.
My children live in Chicago.

What states or countries have you lived in?

Illinois, Georgia, Maryland, Wisconsin

Who was your kindergarten teacher? (best guesses are fine!)

Mrs. Schmidt
Ms. Sullivan

Have a favorite Foster/King Lab memory or story?

I don’t have too many positive memories at school.
I do remember having some good friends and was grateful for that.
I remembered a Mrs. Rose. She was very kind to me.

How did attending Foster/King Lab influence how you view the world? Your values, friendships, community, work, outlook?

It was a very confusing and difficult experience for me. I didn’t understand the racial experiment that we were a part of.
I don’t remember learning much and unfortunately when I left Foster/ King lab in second grade I was put back a grade and needed to repeat second grade. That caused a life long feeling of not being smart enough to be in school. It took me many years to go back to college and feel able enough to be there.

Would you be willing to be interviewed about your Foster/King Lab experience on camera for a documentary?

Yes
