Bob Hudson

Bob HudsonRobert Steven “Bob” Hudson, 74, was welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven on November 13, 2015. At the time of his death at home, Bob was surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Paterson, NJ on February 8, 1941 and was the son of Sadie Irene and James F. Hudson who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his son, Robert Kirk Hudson.

Bob loved the outdoors and just about every sport. As a young man he played on his school’s football, basketball and swim teams and later took up hunting, fishing, boating, golfing, horseback riding and scuba diving. He received his under graduated degree from the University of So. Mississippi, Hattiesburg and an MS. Ed/Public Administration from James Madison University. He later achieved PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer Instructor. He pursued a variety of employment opportunities including executive trainer with Boy Scouts of America; Assistant Athletic Director at E. Tennessee State; owner of Charlottesville Scuba Center, Charlottesville, VA. In retirement he enjoyed trail riding, flying and was a member of the Gold Wing Motorcycle Club.

He is survived by his lovely bride of 31 years, Vicki (Powers) Hudson and by a large family living in five different states to whom he was father, brother, grandfather, uncle and loving friend.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 am Tuesday, November 17, 2015, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Harrisonburg. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be made to the Robert S. Hudson Endowed Scholarship at JMU, 1320 South Main Street, Harrisonburg, VA 22801.

So very sad to hear of Bob's passing.   We grew up together as next door neighbors on 17th Street.   Condolences to his entire family.   Another sad day for FLHS class of 1959.    Jo Ann Canova Bruno

So sorry to hear of Bob's passing. My condolences to his wife and family.  It is difficult when you lose someone you love.

So sorry to hear about Bob's death.  Remember with fondness our time together in high school and having a chance to speak with him at the 50th reunion.   My sympathies are extended to his family in their loss.
