In Memory

Donald (Donnie) Greene

Donald Lee Greene Jr. “Donnie” was born on June 10, 1987, in Fontana, California. He was raised in Maysville, KY and passed away February 5, 2023, in Columbus, Ohio while hiking at Chestnut Ridge Metro Park with his father.

Donnie attended Fairborn High School and graduated in 2005; he also attended Clark State Community College. Growing up, Donnie excelled in baseball, basketball, and aggressive inline skating. His passion for skating soon took over. Donnie was fearless; you could find him displaying his skills at skate parks, flying through the sky jumping off roofs, and grinding rails throughout the region.

Donnie was the coolest person in the room; he was nonchalant, pensive, quiet, caring, intelligent, and most importantly true to himself. Donnie was an avid fan of Tupac and enjoyed spending time with his family, playing chess with his father, listening to music, watching movies, writing in his journal, and hiking. He was seen and loved by everyone who truly knew his heart. Donnie shared a special relationship with his Aunt Connie Jones, cousin Angie Greene, and best friend Andrew Dresbach. Donnie is survived by his mother Velda D. Greene, his father, Donald Lee Greene Sr. (Gina Weinstock), and his sister Shauntae L. Greene (Richard Harrington). He was proceeded in death by his maternal grandfather Claude Rowland, maternal grandmother Dorothy Edwards, paternal grandfather William A. Greene Sr. (Billy), paternal grandmother Katie Mae Greene, aunt Hattie Greene, uncles William A. Greene Jr. (Bucky), Keith Edwards Sr., Dwayne Edwards, cousins Melissa Greene (Missy), Bishop Edwards Jr. (Little Stan), and Taiwan Thompson Sr.

Services for Donnie Greene will be held at Scott United Methodist Church on Saturday, February 18, 2023, beginning at noon. Visitation is scheduled to commence at 11:00 am until the hour of the service. Reverend Claude Commodore will be officiating the service with interment immediately following at Green Acres Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Bishop Edwards (Stan), Alonzo Greene, Alton Greene (Wayne), Ernie Greene, Randy Greene, and Robert Greene. Honorary pallbearers are Andrew Dresbach, Jamall Greene, Jamill Greene, Jermaine Greene, Julian Greene, Nico Dean, Tajuan Greene, Ty Greene, Wesley Jones, William (Billy) Johnson, and William (Chris) Greene.
