Squirrel causes morning power outage

Wednesday, Feb 25, 2009 - 08:07:09 am CST

A squirrel got on a transformer at the Lincoln Electric System substation at 56th and Q streets Wednesday morning, causing a power outage to 2,175 LES customers.

Power went out from 40th to 70th streets, A to Vine at 7:35 a.m. and was restored by 7:59 a.m., said LES spokesman Russ Reno.

The squirrel was killed after making contact with the transformer, Reno said.

Michale, It's good to see you on, ready for some spring weather? Hope work is going OK? Any big plans coming up? Hows Kenny doing? Didn't he have an injury awhile back?

Roe, Whats new in the big state of Texas? So what do you do now with football season over?

Cindy G, I was looking up F-town on the internet and found an ad for Fairbury Executive Suites (in the old Golden Rule store). Look pretty fancy, who put these rooms together?

Bill Sell, No turkey trip for me this year, I've taken to much time off of work already, plus I'm off the rest of this week for Girls BB districts, (Thur. $ Friday) Then if they make state I'll be off next weekend.

Matt, If the guy that installed our air to air heat pumps (we ended up with 2,since we have old 2 story house) don't get it fixed right pretty soon, I'm might be giving you a call. The discharge tube from the compressor only puts out 97 degree heat with both stages calling, freon is right, everybody else's puts out aleast 140, both units are doing the same thing, driving me crazy!!!

Terry, I hope they took it easy on you today!!!
