Robert “Bob” C. Toon Jr.

Robert Toon, 57, of Talent, Ore., passed away on Thursday, July 29, 2010, at his home.
Bob Toon was born at McChord Air Force Base in Tacoma, Wash., and moved to Travis Air Force Base in Calif., six months later. In 1955, the nearby city of Fairfield became his home. He had fond memories of attending second and third grade at Ernest Harmon Air Force Base in Newfoundland, Canada before returning to Fairfield where he graduated from Fairfield High in 1971, with a football scholarship to the University of Arizona in Tucson. He played center for the Wildcats football team until graduation in September 1976, with a bachelor’s degree in education.
After the death of his grandparents, Edna and Smith Trent, he moved to their home in Talent, Ore., in March 1992, where he was a substitute teacher and the football and track coach for several years at the Talent Middle School. Former students were responsible for his being accepted in the “Who’s Who of Outstanding Teachers” for two consecutive years. He was known for his awesome memory and vast knowledge of sports, history and geography.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Priscilla Toon Lindgren, and his father, Robert C. Toon. He is survived by his mother, Charlotte Beeson Toon; sister, Pam and husband Pat Nourot; nieces, Kimberly Maeyama and Tianna Nourot; nephews, Brian Maeyama and Arthur Nourot; and five great-nieces and one great-nephew.
A remembrance celebration was held on Saturday, August 7, 2010, in Talent, Oregon, in the Talent Middle School cafeteria.
Bob requested that any donations be made to his sister’s memorial scholarship, which has provided a scholarship to a graduating senior every year since her death in 1982. Casey Coppock (1971)

Just a great person. Bob was always smiling and making others laugh back in High School and I don't think that ever changed.  He left us too soon but with great memories.
