Debbie Lum - Class Of 1969

Deborah Lum Chew

Sept. 10, 1951 — June 18, 2022

On Saturday, June 18, 2022, Deborah Lum Chew, loving wife and mother of three children, passed away at the age of 70. Debbie was born on Sept. 10, 1951, in Fairfield, California, to Charlie and Jessie Lum.

She was a graduate of Fairfield High School, and she received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from California State University, Chico.

On June 4, 1978, Debbie married Frank Chew. Together, they raised two daughters, Jaime and Jennifer, and a son, Scott.

Debbie was a great cook and an exceptional baker, known for her ranger cookies and from-scratch apple pie. She was also extremely crafty, from sewing costumes and clothes to creating wreaths and hand-painted shirts and sweatshirts. Debbie also successfully ran her own jewelry business ‘Designs by Debbie’ for 10 years.

She was outgoing, friendly and a beautiful person inside and out. She had a warm, charismatic smile, and always put others before herself.

Survived by her caring mother, Jessie Lum; devoted husband, Frank; children, Jaime (Jeremy), Jennifer (Ron), Scott; four grandchildren, Riley, Jaxon, Preston, Chase; and numerous other relatives.

Debbie is preceded in death by her father, Charlie Lum.

A service will be held on Wednesday, July 20, 2022, but will be limited to immediate family and close friends only.

Cynthia Abruzzini (Brian) (1969)

What a lovely person Debbie was. We had so much fun cheerleading together for three years at FFH. She was always sweet, smart, and caring. The Lum family has always been special to us. Condolences to all.

Linda Hughes (1969)

I was so sad to see of Debbie's passing she was such a great friend always so kind. My thoughts and prayers are with all the family at this time.  Linda Hughes class of 69
