Brian Felner

Brian Richard Felner, age 33, the loving son of former Fire Chief Richard S. Felner and his wife Linda Liacos Felner, passed away suddenly in Carbondale, CO on Saturday, March 26, 2016. Born in Bridgeport, he was a graduate of Roger Ludlowe High School, Class of 2000. Brian attended the School of Aeronautics at Florida Institute of Technology and while there, was an Air Force reservist. He was also a member of the crew team.
Brian was a member of the Fairfield Fire Dept. for over nine years and a member of Fairfield Firefighters Union Local 1426. After relocating to Colorado, he worked on the mountain at Snowmass and at FedEx.
Brian was an accomplished snowboarder, skier and loved to fish. He was a talented photographer and one of his pictures hangs today in Fairfield Town Hall.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his two sisters, Leslie Felner Paules and her husband, Matt of Fairfield and Donna Reitz and her husband, Paul of San Antonio, TX; his sister-in-law, Patricia Felner-Bragano and her husband, Nicholas of Trumbull; his two uncles, Tom Liacos and his wife, Judy of Huntington and Matt Liacos and his wife, Sharon of Shelton and multiple nieces and nephews. Brian was predeceased by his brother, David.
Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, April 4, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Fairfield. Interment is private. Donations may be made in his memory to the Fairfield Firefighters Charitable Foundation, 600 Jennings Road, Fairfield, CT 06824.
