I'm sorry I can't make it to the reunion. Can't get the time off work. I don't really spend a lot of time dwelling on H.S. but as the reunion has gotten closer the more I look back and the more I wish I could be there. There are people who I haven't talked to in ten to fifteen years but still consider to be good friends.
I've spent fifteen of the last twenty years in school or in training.
Went to UVA after GCM and graduated in '93. Spent two years screwing around before going to medical school. Graduated from EVMS in '99. I then did a five year general surgery residency at the Univ. of Arizona which I finished in 2004. I was able to make it to the 10 year reunion during my intern year. Next did a two year vascular surgery fellowship at Robert Wood Johnson (Rutgers) in NJ. Finished in '06.
My first job after fellowship was in rural NW Georgia (about thirty miles south of Chattanooga). Didn't really fit into the "culture" of the deep south so didn't renew my contract. We moved to Sacramento about a year ago. A little far from home but we've really liked northern california.
I met my wife in my fourth year of residency ('03). Jackie is from Maine. She has a PhD in nutrition. We got married in 2007. Our daughter Riley was born June 9th, 2008. We found out a few weeks ago we're expecting number two.
