Johnny Michael

MICHAEL, Dr. John Rhodes 1945 - 2016 We lost our beloved John on Thursday, January 7, 2016, after a long illness. He is survived by his immediate family, including Shea, his four sons, Sean, Jonathan, Julian, and Nick; Nick's family, Tesa and their children Austin and Hailey; and his only sibling and sister Joanna and her family, Bob and their two children Julie and Eric and their children. John was born and raised in the Washington, DC, area and lived a very full life. He graduated from Duke University in 1967 and went on to serve in the United States Air Force as an Intelligence Officer/ Captain, during the Vietnam War until 1973. John was a scientist at heart, forever pursuing new ways of thinking and questioning traditional paradigms. So after his service in the Air Force, John continued his education and ultimately graduated with a Ph.D. in Statistical Science from Southern Methodist University and, later, a Ph.D. in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from George Washington University. He worked as a research scientist and consultant with many major companies and law firms, and part time at SMU. John published numerous renowned scientific papers. He was a wonderful father and person, with a kind heart and a unique sense of humor. His impact on all of our lives was immeasurable and we all miss him very much. Based on his wish, we are having a memorial service for him with the immediate family. Contributions in memory of John may be made to Consumers Union and/or DARCC (Post Office Box 820844 Dallas, Texas 75382) For more information contact Shea Alexander @ sheaalexander4@gmail.com
