Chad Michael Boyd, 36, of Hong Kong passed away Sunday, November 1, 2009. Chad graduated from Pine Forest High School in Fayetteville, NC and was currently employed by the Jarden Corporation in Hong Kong, China. He was an avid fisherman, baseball and softball enthusiast and was currently on two softball teams in Hong Kong. He was recently named MVP in the Manila softball tournament. His love of life was exceeded only by his love for family and friends. He was the loving son of Walter Franklin Boyd, Jr. and Brenda Waters Boyd, both of Abbeville. He leaves behind a devoted sister and brother-in-law, Christy Boyd Gary and Marty Gary, both of Abbeville. He was a very special uncle to niece, Taylor Gary and nephews, Tyler and Tanner Gary. Also reared in the home was a special uncle, Ronnie Swinton Powell. He was the grandson of Prue D. and Louise Waters of Clinton and the late Franklin Walter Boyd, Sr. and Mozelle Boyd of Greenwood. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Pallbearers will be Jon Scott, Greg Dalness, Jeff Allen, Mike Farrell, Mike Buchanan and Stephen Morton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Chad Michael Boyd Memorial Children’s Fund at County Bank locations.
