William Elmore, Jr.

HOPE MILLS -- William Clarence Elmore Jr., 42, of 3921 Harden Road, died Tuesday, July 29, 2003, in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville.

Mr. Elmore was a detective with the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office and a volunteer firefighter at Cotton Fire Department. He formerly worked with Pierce Mill Fire Department.

The funeral was conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Rogers and Breece Funeral Home chapel in Fayetteville by Chaplain Kenny Williams and Drs. Norman E. Mitchell and Ben West. Burial was in Fayetteville Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Elmore is survived by his wife, Stacey L. Elmore of the home; two sons, Matthew W. Elmore and Michael A. Elmore, both of Moore County; his parents, William C. Elmore Sr. and Edna H. Elmore of Fayetteville; and two sisters, Kathy E. Stone of Raeford and Dianna L. Elmore of Fayetteville.
