MISSING CLASSMATES

Know the email address of a missing Classmate? Click here to contact them!

Welcome to the Federal Way Public Academy Alumni web site. All students who have attended FWPA since it opened in 1999 are welcome to register. Please register under the year you started at FWPA.  When it asks for graduation year, put it at the year you started at FWPA.  By registering under the year you began at FWPA, the site is able to handle the registration of current students as well as former students.  If you can't find your name in the year that you think you started, please check the years before and after you came to FWPA.

To get started, find your name on the"Classmates Profiles" list.  If your name isn't there, let us know.  Be sure to include the year you started at FWPA.

Teachers and Staff now appear on their own page.  Please feel free to edit you profile as you desire.  Currently, the only information provided about teachers and staff is a name.  If you have taught or worked at FWPA and are not listed, please send an e-mail to FWPA10year@gmail.com

Suggestions:

When filling out your profile enter only the information that you want visible to others from the school.  For example: Instead of listing your birthdate as July 29, 1990, just enter July 29 without choosing a year.

You may put as little or as much information as you wish in your profile.  However, for our "Where are they now?" display at the reunion,  it would be helpful if you would include the following:

  • What college you attended, or are currently attending
  • What state you live in.  If you are still in Washington, what town/city do you live in?
  • Also, it would be nice to know, what year(s) you attended FWPA

ANNOUNCEMENTS

It is with great sadness that I inform you of the passing of one of our long-time staff members, Diane Holtz.  Diane has been a major foundation of success at Public Academy.  She is our longest serving teacher, having been in our program since fall, 2000, the beginning of FWPA's second year.  She started in the Federal Way School District in November 1991 at Silver Lake Elementary and transferred to Saghalie Jr. High School in 1998 before coming to FWPA.

During most of her time here, Diane had been courageously battling cancer.  Even as she dealt with her illness, Diane stayed dedicated to her job and committed to her students.  She was a true inspiration to everyone who knew her.  Diane has been instrumental in formulating our seventh grade program, planning the 7th grade annual retreats, creating our yearbooks, building and maintaining our computer labs, and making Public Academy a leader in technology and academics.

Key to Diane's accomplishments was her commitment to the success of each student who walked in the school doors.  FWPA is a family, and Mrs. Holtz has been one of our closest and dear members.  We have all benefited because of Diane’s love and commitment to the school and will miss her immensely.

We will provide information about honoring her memory when arrangements have been announced.

Sincerely,

Kurt Lauer
