Raised in Fergus Falls by Ernest and Annette Haiby.  Mary was active in Zions Luther League and choir.  She graduated in 1965 from Fergus Falls High School and then traveled to the Twin Cities to attend keypunch schooling.  She moved to Alaska in 1966, to start a new adventure where she raised her two children Tammy Lode/Bowers and John Webster.  She brought her children back to see their grandparents and extended family every couple of years.  In 1991 she returned to stay in Fergus Falls.  Her return helped her mother and father stay in their home through their golden years.  During this time she was involved with the Caregivers Support Group.  They helped to guide her through many difficult times.   She was on the board of Zion Luthern Church for several years.  She worked at Telnet, WACCO, and Broen Nursing Home.  She also participated in Friends of the Kirkbride and Partners in Parenting, where she helped young adults navigate through tough times and learn helpful life skills.  She was preceded in death by her mother Annette Haiby in 1993,  father, Ernest Haiby in 2003, and grandson William Bowers of Hawaii in 2016.  She is survived by her brother David Haiby of New Mexico and sister Karen Haiby/Johnston of Colorado.  She is also survived by her daughter Tammy Lode/Bowers of Fergus Falls and son John Webster of Kenai Alaska.  She has five wonderful grandchildren living in Hawaii, Oregon, and Alaska as well as six great-granddaughters living in Hawaii and Oregon.  She is truly and deeply missed by many-many other family members and special friends who were very important to her happiness every day.  She loved nothing more than to spend time with her family and friends visiting.  In the recent years, travel was harder for Mary Jo and she spent a lot of time with her doctors and developed many close friendships with so many of the staff at the clinic “Thank You”.  I also want to take a moment and thank everyone throughout town who made my mother Mary Jo feel so special.  To her, a smile and acknowledgment made her day. The Celebration of Life will be held this Saturday the 27 at 2 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church (202 East Summit Ave., Fergus Falls, MN 56537).
