Diane Bares, 57, Moorhead, died Saturday, Feb. 21, 2004, in MeritCare Hospital, Fargo.

Diane Dahlen was born Jan. 17, 1947, in Fergus Falls, Minn. She grew up and attended school near Dalton, Minn., graduating from Fergus Falls High School. She graduated from Minnesota State University Moorhead. In June 1969 she married Jerry Halverson. She did substitute teaching in the Fargo and Moorhead area. She later worked for Camelot Cleaners. He died in 1981. On May 23, 1988, she married Galen Bares in Lake Tahoe, Calif. They lived in Moorhead.

She is survived by her husband; her mother, Verna Dahlen, Moorhead; two sons, Mathew Halverson, Marcus Halverson, both Moorhead; a daughter, Dena Halverson, Moorhead; three stepsons, Jeff Nicholson, Crookston, Minn., John (Laurie) Nicholson, West Fargo, Dan Nicholson; and two grandchildren.

Memorial service: Thursday at 2 in Our Saviors Lutheran Church, Moorhead.
