Anthony Silbernagel Obituary

Anthony (Tony) Paul Silbernagel, 68, died September 16th, 2014 in Billings, MT.

Tony was born in Newcastle Under Lyme Staffordshire England on October 9th, 1945 to Ambrose Paul Silbernagel and Mary Whittaker Silbernagel. He grew up in Fergus Falls MN at the home of Delphine Silbernagel and her brother, Robbie and grandparents George and Alvina Silbernagel. Tony attended Our Lady of Victory Catholic grade school and graduated from Fergus Falls High School. He was drafted into the US Army in 1967, spending more than one in Vietnam.

On November 9th, 1968, Tony married the love of his life, Rae Zelka and had 5 loving children. Tony was truck driver for many years beginning at Garrett Freightways and retiring in 2004 from Yellow Freight in Portland OR.

In May 2003, Tony married Charleen Morley in Vancouver WA.

Tony loved God and his Catholic faith, his loving children and family and his numerous friends he made over the course of his lifetime. He is preceded in death by his father, Ambrose, 1st wife, Rae, his oldest daughter, Antoinette, a grandson Tyrel and his half brother Kevin Burns. Surviving family are his four children, Susan Mayer, Paula (Ryan) Miller, Andrew (Kammie) Silbernagel and Aaron (Andrea) Silbernagel; his wife, Charleen Silbernagel, his mother, Mary Burns, his grandchildren, Sean and Eric Jordan and Aaron Jacobs, Kendra and Jessica Conover, Garrett and Dylan Miller, Christopher Silbernagel and Austin, Jack, Ari and Cora Silbernagel. His siblings include Kathleen (Mort) Reid of Billings MT, David (Morgan) Silbernagel of St. Regis MT and two half brothers Randy Burns, Billings MT and Larry Burns of Vancouver, WA. Along with several aunts and uncles in Billings MT, Fred and Aileen Silbernagel, June Silbernagel, and Delphine Silbernagel and Mrs. Bob (Evelyn) Holstrom of Fergus Falls MN.

Funeral Mass will be 10:00am Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church at 2055 Woody Dr in Billings, MT. Committal will be 1:00pm with Military Honors at Yellowstone National Cemetery in Laurel MT.
