
LeAnn Wenstrom, 37, Elbow Lake, died Wednesday, Oct. 3, at St. Lukes Hospital in Fargo. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, at Elbow Lake High School gymnasium. Rev. Paul Petersen will officiate and burial will be in Ness Cemetery, Elbow Lake.
She was born April 9, 1947, in Fergus Falls and was confirmed at Augustana Lutheran Church. She graduated from Fergus Falls High School in 1965. She attended Ritter Beauty School in Fergus Falls and was a licensed beautician.
She married Gene Wenstrom on Aug. 31, 1968, at Augustana Lutheran Church, Fergus Falls. They lived in Fergus Falls, and she worked as a medical secretary at Fergus Falls Medical Group.
They moved to Elbow Lake in 1970, and for a while she worked at the Medical Arts Clinic there. She was also an Avon representative.
She and her husband farmed near Elbow Lake. After he was elected to the legislature in 1974, she was active in the Dome Club, an organization of representatives' wives. She was an active participant in her husband's political career.
She belonged to Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Elbow Lake and was active in directing youth and adult choirs, organizing Sunday School and other church programs, teaching, LCW and circles. She was also a member of a Homemakers Club and in recent years became active in educational programs about cancer and cystic fibrosis.
She is survived by her husband Gene; two children, Daniel and Tammy, at home; her parents, Walter and Ruby Knoll, Fergus Falls; a brother, Marlyn, Phoenix, Ariz.
