ALL HERE ARE THE FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS: The layout will be on Friday, Nov. 7th from 2:00 til 8:00 pm with a service by the American Legion and VFW Laidies Auxilary at 7:00 that will last about 35 mins. (Avoid it if you can because her sisters are in them and may be longer, not being cruel just honest). She will be cremated that night or Sat morning. The memorial service will be on Saturday, Nov 8th. at 2:oo pm with precession to Roselawn cemetary in Crystal City. Then the piece de resistance is the wake at the Amvets in Herculaneum (its right past the new bridge after you pass the Artesian, on the right and thats coming from Festus) Did just find out may be scheduling conflict with Amvets but 99% sure thats where wake will be.

Listen if you cant make it to either or just want to stop by on Friday or just come to Amvets for a drink that is perfectly acceptable. (Even a post or phone call is good.) I know where everyones heart is and I totally understand, please no need to feel bad!! I mean it. Funerals are never convenient!

Seems like Nolen has stepped up to the plate (as organizer of sorts)to help me and my family but dont leave Pacino out! Battle of the Scotts again!! Thank you all!

Billy my prayers are with you and your family. I am glad you had JMH Hospice, they will help you with everything. Anything you need just call. It sounds like you are doing ok but don't be tough for us, you have lots of shoulders to lean on, just ask any of us and we will be there in a minute.

Bill - What funeral home on Friday?

11/03/08 07:44 PM #959

Scott Nolen

Hey all, I can help facilitate getting money to the appropriate charity, but Bill has posted that he's willing to take care of that which is probably more appropriate. There will be opportunities to donate at the funeral home, which I think is Vineyards.

I personally will be at the wake and the service. I am going to take some BBQ to the family Saturday (Bill and I already spoke about this and no Bill, I'm not changing my mind...)!!

If you can make one but not the other, Bill understands, as previously posted. If you want to get together to remember the Bill's mom with him, I think he'd be open to a Darvin's trip on Friday and he'll be available Saturday after the memorial service. I'm not sure which one I'll make, but I thought it'd be good to be there to support Billy. Let me know...

Hey All - I am up for anything.. Is anyone planning on taking food to the house for the family? I know Nolen said he was but I just don't want them to have too much food to have to deal with.

I think this will tie us more together and will keep us going as friends and hope that will stay this way for a long time. As people have said before we have all come and gone for a while but we never can let go..,. Just my thought..

EVERYONE In my scatteredbrain moments the last few days it has been brought to my attention that I neglected to mention the location of the services. Hear is the basic plan: Friday 2 to 8 layout AT VINEYARDS in Festus. Cremated that nite. Saturday 2:oo pm memorial service at Vineyards in Festus, then to Roselawn Cemetary in CC for burial. (Skip it and go to Amvets for early start, its ok) THEN TO PATSY PARTY AT AMVETS IN HERKY.

Note: at 7:00 pm Friday night (layout) the VFW/American Legion Ladies Auxillary will be performing a service for at least 30 mins. Avoid it if you can. You just sit and watch!!!

Directions to Amvets: Coming from Festus, go toward herky high school, once you go over the bridge its first building on your right. Wall surrounds it. If you can make anything, go to the Patsy Party. Good times. FIRST ROUND IS ON MOMISITA, HER INSTRUCTIONS!!!

Sorry for the oversite and thanks for pointing it out!

Noticed a mention of food brought to the house; THANKS BUT WE HAVE ENOUGH! I need to lose weight people.

Nolen, call my cousin regarding food and let her know if others want to hop on board! She will let you know when it gets overboard. GOD BLESS YOU ALL

Hey all,

Just spoke to Bill's cousin who is handling the food preparations for Sat.

If you want to bring/donate a food dish, it needs to be at the Amvets (mentioned in Billy's previous posts) by 1:00 on Sat with all that goes along with it (ie, I need to bring buns for pulled pork unless someone brings buns). It sounds like the meat is taken care of (pork, Turkey, Ham) but side dishes are ok (of course they don't know how many will show up for food), so its a moving target.

If you would, per Louise's request, either call me (6365242423) or post here what you want to bring or if you're attending, it would be a big help! I really do hope that a lot of you show up to support Billy. He's been a great friend to all of us and I KNOW he'd be there for us if the roles were reversed!!

I typed this from a blackberry so I take no responsibility for spelling/grammar (but stay tuned, Bill and I have a new idea for one of my "posts")

Nolen out.....

Nolen -- I will take a cherry cobbler to the Amvets on Saturday. Do you know how early we can drop off the food? Just wondering if it has to be there @ 1:00 sharp. I plan on attending the service on Saturday. Thanks for being the point man!

11/04/08 10:40 PM #973

Scott Nolen

I was told that the food needed to be at the Amvets around 1, which would allow a ton of time to get to Vineyard's Funeral Home at 2 per Billy's previous posts.

I will be available Friday but on a limited basis on Sat due to a Wedding. I'll be there to drop off food at 1, at a wedding at 2, at amvets between wedding and reception (which is in Herky) then home to pass out.

I really hope that the class of 88 shows up to support Bill in person!!

Thanks to Hartman for stepping up with some Buns, Cole Slaw, and Potato Salad....

Nolen- I can't make it on Saturday, but I will come down on Friday for the visitation at Vinyard's...I'm guessing it will be around 4:30 or 5:00 before I can get there. Thanks for taking care of details, I'm sure it means a lot to Billy!

I will be able to make in on Friday and Satuurday; I will bring some soda and some water for the families. See you all there.

Nolen,

I've been talking to Bill on and off via telephone/text since Thursday night and since our most recent discussions have decided I'd be taking a big pot of chicken and dumplings over to the Amvets on Saturday. After hearing chicken and dumplings, Bill decided to recant on the 'we have enough food' statement.

And don't worry Bill, I'm still planning on making you another pot like I said in a few weeks too - just for you buddy.

Will see you all over the weekend as I plan to attend likely both Friday night and Saturday. Just need to make sure I have the girls taken care of, but I don't expect it to be a problem.

Nolen, I can bring a dessert to the Amvets. Thanks for being the "Leader" of the gang, doing a fine job. I'm going to be there both Friday and Saturday. Let me know if there is anything else I can do. Cell 314-596-1257.

Billy, hope everything is going OK, continuing to keep you in my thoughts. Love you!
