BARKER, Willis D. "Will" - Of Flint Township, formerly of Seattle, age 45, died Tuesday, May 17, 2011, at his residence after a long courageous battle with Lyme Disease/ALS. Memorial Service will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, May 26, 2011 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. Per Willis' wishes cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Michigan Chapter of ALS or the Humane Society of Genesee County. Visitation 2 p.m. Thursday until the time of the service at the funeral home. Willis was born in Lapeer, Michigan on December 25, 1965, the son of Dallas and Margaret Barker. Willis graduated from Ainsworth High School Class of 1984 and attended the Center for Creative Studies in Detroit. Willis had a band in the 80's for four years, called Prep Militia with his best friends, Tim, Brent and Jim, for which he was very proud. He was involved in a small way with the production crew and was an investor in the movie titled, GPS, The Movie. Willis was employed on the American Empress out of Dutch Harbor, Alaska for three years. He did 3D graphic designs for Sierra Company, working on the production of computer games for 5 years. He ran an online store called Barkers Buckles. Surviving are parents, Dallas and wife Margaret Barker of Flint Township; sister, Jeannie and husband David Maggard of Grand Blanc; aunts, uncles, cousins; many special friends, including Tim and wife Michelle Puckett, Tama Hubster, Don Payne, Brent Lannon, Brian Reaves and Greg Reaves.
