Papaw....truly the best man I have ever known. When I had my first son..there was no doubt in my mind..he would be named from Papaw. Although we already had one other Douglas in the family...another one would only make this world a better place!
Papaw has always been a constant in my life.There are soooo many things I could say about him...all the things we loved about him...our 'spider' money....his music playing...his little 'jig'....his garden....his humour...his sweetness...his love of his little 'birds' (Mamaw and Lulu)...his peppermints...his gentleness...truly a wonderful man.
Papaw passed away on my birthday. To me it was somewhat of a comfort instead of a sad reminder...he found his way to heaven on the day of my birth.
