Kathleen S. Crabtree, 66, of Bourbonnais, formerly of Peotone, died Monday, October 3, 2011, at her home.

She was born November 28, 1944 in Harvey. She was retired from the Illinois Central Railroad, where she worked as a clerk. She was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ in Peotone. She enjoyed cooking for her family and others, doing arts and crafts, was an avid reader, and her heart was fulfilled when she was able to meet her new twin granddaughters on September 23, 2011.

Mrs. Crabtree is survived by a son, Ronald (Lisa) Crabtree of Dyer, Ind.; three daughters, Deborah (Jim) Bounds and Rebecca (Todd) Huston, both of Springfield, and Stephanie (Ian) Leska of Chicago; seven grandchildren, Elizabeth and Austin Crabtree, Clay and Devon Bounds, Gabi, Reese and Harper Huston; a sister, Janeece (Nicolai) Hansen of Louisville, Ky.; and several nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Gertrude (Schwarz) Slover.
