COXWORTH, Douglas W. Of Swartz Creek, age 52, died Saturday, August 30, 1997 at Hurley Medical Center due to complications with cancer. A memorial service will be conducted 6 p.m. Wednesday, September 3, 1997 at Flushing Presbyterian Church, Rev. Martin Ankrum will officiate. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until the time of service Wednesday at the church. Contributions may be made to the family in care of Rossell Funeral Home or Charity of Choice. Mr. Coxworth was born in Flint, Michigan, May 21, 1945, the son of Morris and Erna (Falewich) Coxworth. He graduated from Flushing High School in 1963 and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Coxworth had been employed by G.M.P.D. for 14 years and then was a carpenter. He was a member of Flushing Presbyterian Church, Flushing Lodge 223 F.&A.M. and Lodge Council Chapter Consistory Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite. Surviving are: son, Daris and wife Mary Coxworth of Texas; daughters, Anya Coxworth of Flushing, Kendra and husband Michael Kite of Texas and Tara Kilbury of Grand Blanc; parents, Morris and Erna Coxworth of Flushing; brother, Bruce Coxworth of Flint and wife Lisa of Flushing; sister, Kathleen and husband John E. Miller of Flushing; several nieces, nephews and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his sister, Martha Coxworth in 1974. Many special thanks to Drs. A. Hassan, Akl and Filos; Hurley Medical Center nursing staff-ICU, Seven East and Radiation Oncology staff, especially Shiela and Teddy.
