(Karl) Pete Schmidt

Well, I went to Lawrence Tech to become a rich and famous architect and left after I failed calculus the third time. In the summer of '64 I took an IBM keypunch class (backup to the rich and famous part) and worked 8 weeks at Consumers Power's mail room as a temp.

After LIT I went back to CPCo and worked there for 12 years. I was married for eight years and had 3 boys. I now have 8 grand kids and 9 great grand kids. All perfect angels, of course.

In 1977 I moved to San Francisco and worked for Greyhound Lines as an Operations Manager, got laid off, worked for Boise Cascade in purchasing, then a Barter Exchange marketing stint and finally in 1994 I went back to diesel fumes at a local airport bus carrier and charter company. I retired from there in 2005 to manager this 69 unit 7-story apartment building.

12-31-10: I have retired and moved back to Flint. San Diego was a nice thought (I had made plans at one time) but decided I wanted to be closer to family.

I bought a house on the south side of Flint in the Fenton/Atherton Roads area. and I'm as happy as if I was in my right mind.

I went to Flushing schools from Mrs. Dyball's kindergarten class in 1950 to graduation in 1963. One break in that happened when my folks and brother were in a serious car accident in December of 1952 and we lived at my grandparents in Flint for a couple of months until mom was healed and I went to Dort School.

BTW: Mrs. (Dyball) Dial now lives in Foster City, about 20 miles from my San Francisco home. Mr. Dial passed away a few years ago.
