It is with tremendous sadness that I notify you of the death of Karen Sue Fader-Karpf. After graduation, Karen worked for Citi Bank in Manhatten. She married Bill Scannell in 1970 and they had a daughter, Christine. They moved to the Rochester, NY area and after moving back to the NYC area, Karen worked for Ogilvy & Mather. She married Leonard Karpf in 2000 and they moved to Iowa in 2011 to be near Christine and her family. She was enjoying her family and semi-retirement when she was diagnosed with a very fast growing pancreatic cancer and passed away on July 30, 2015. She is survived by her husband Leonard Karpf, daughter, Christine, and her husband, Charles, her sister Marilyn Fader of Flushing, as well as her brother-in-law, Myron Timoshuk, niece, Susan and her husband Joe Erdman and nephew, Stephen Timoshuk. Her sister, Rosemary and parents Ben and Mary Fader passed previously. Karen and I were best friends growing up and were known to many friends as "big Karen" and "little Karen". While we hadn't been in touch for a number of years, I miss her and am grateful for our years of friendship and many memories.

I lived a block away from Karen and knew her well when we were much younger. I recall only fond feelings and memories of her and once again saddened by the passing of an old friend..

I remember Karen well. We were in homeroom together. I had a mad crush on her. I'm sorry to hear of her passing. I hope she had a good life.
