I lost track of Howard after high school, but found him again on Facebook. He had a beautiful family, and was a stand-up guy that I was in class with going back to Ryan JHS.

I remember Howie from school and Little League. He always had a great attitude and an even better smile and I enjoyed every minute with him. My father also coached Howie in Little League for a few years and described him as "one of the most determined baseball players" that he had ever coached. That comment has stayed with me for all of these years because my father never made many comments like that. I still can visualize Howie walking to the mound during a game, with all of that bulky catcher's equipment on, to calm down the pitcher. Howie really stood out for both of us and it was a pleasure to have known him.
