Jerome L. Knutson, age 66, of Foreston, died with his daughter, Ronda Knutson, from injuries received in an automobile accident in Maywood Township, Benton County on Tuesday February 1, 2011.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 12, 2011 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Princeton. The Rev. Barb Peterson will officiate. Military Honors will be provided by the Foley American Legion.

Friends may call from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at Gethsemane Lutheran Church, Oak Park and 1 hour before services at the church on Saturday. Arrangements were made by the Foley Funeral Home.

Jerome Knutson was born February 15, 1944 in St. Cloud, Minnesota to Palmer and Evelyn (Rosevold) Knutson. He married Joan Montag September 15, 1962 at St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church in Brennyville. He had lived in Oak Park since 1951. He had gone to grade school in Oak Park and graduated in 1962 from Foley High School. He was a US Army Veteran serving from 1962-1965 and had served in Panama. After his discharge from the service he worked at Federal Cartridge in the cities and then for Granite City Towing until he became disabled in 1974. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, gunsmithing, reloading and gardening. He enjoyed attending his grandchildren's sport events and was an avid sports fan. He was a life member of Gethsemane Lutheran Church. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.

He is survived by his wife, Joan, Foreston; sons and daughter, Roger (Stacy), Milaca; Roxanne (Don) Lubrecht, Princeton; Rodney (Mary), Melcher-Dallas, IA; son-in-law, fiance of Ronda, Barry Vizenor; 12 grandchildren, Cassie, Nick, Mellisa, Kimberly, Kayla, Theresa, Stephanie, Josh, M'Kay, J'Lyn, Taylor and Kendra; brother and sisters, Yvonne (Don) Hogie-Streich, Buffalo, MN; Patricia Flores, Tiverton, RI; Ken (Pat), Phoenix, AZ; brothers and sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers-in-law, Gayhardt Hogie, Arnie Montag and John Flores and nephew, Jeffrey Montag.
