Darlene A. Maslar, 43,  died after a fire struck her home.

She received her nursing degree from Luzerne County Community College. Before becoming disabled, she was employed at the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg. Darlene belonged to the American Eskimo Dog Rescue Organization. She rescued dogs from shelters and placed them with families.
