I had known Richard since kindergarden. He was always quirky, but weren't we all? After high school he was good friends with my cousin Kevin Craft so I had the chance to get to know him better. He was a hoot!! Great guy!
Richard Straight, especially in my Junior High/Middle School years, provided a subtle spice to the general flavor of the entire experience. There were some kids that did a lot of teasing. And there were some kids that got teased alot. And, there were a lot who did both. But Richard Straight seemed to cicrcumvent, in his own mysterious ways, all of it. Cheers.
I remember running into Richard at dolliver park almost litterally he drove that little vw the funniest thing i remember about him was when he tried to climb one of the clay mounds towards the back of the park and got the car stuck half on the hill and half off kind of just tettered there in mid air and how he tried to explain to the cops how it got on the hill in the first place i thought the cop would die laughing watching him try to rock that car off the hill while cussing the whole time under his breath about how dumb it was to attemp to climb it in the first place he really knew how to make people around him laugh he was lucky the cop was too busy laughing to write him a ticket
