William T. "Bill" Johnson, 55, of Fort Dodge, died Tuesday, January 16, 2007 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines following a sudden illness.
Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday, January 20th in the chapel of Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home and 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church with the Rev. Edward Girres officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be in Corpus Christi Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, where there will be a vigil at 6 p.m.
Surviving is his son, Troy of Fort Dodge; parents, Al and Darlene Johnson of Fort Dodge; brothers, Al and his wife Barb of Council Bluffs, Rod of Fort Dodge; sister, Joyce Johnson of Fort Dodge. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Leo and Anne Doyle and Theodore and Borghild Johnson.
William T. Johnson was born January 7, 1952 in Fort Dodge, Iowa. He attended Holy Rosary School and graduated from St. Edmond High School with the Class of 1970. He then attended Iowa Central Community College. Shortly after his education, he was united in marriage to Zandra Roderick at Corpus Christi Church and they established their home in Fort Dodge. They later divorced. Bill married Deb Hamilton in Fort Dodge and they established their home here. To this marriage, Bill's son Troy was born. Several years later the couple divorced. Bill was employed at Chantland Manufacturing in Humboldt for 33 years, in the Engineering and Sales Department.
He loved spending time with his family, especially his son Troy whom he was raising at the time of this death.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
