With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Lynn Marie (Chambers) Knudson on February 18, 2025, at the age of 61. A visitation for Lynn will be held Thursday, February 27, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at McLaren's Resthaven Chapel, 801 19th Street, West Des Moines, IA 50265, followed by a memorial service at 6:00 PM.

A native of Fort Dodge, IA, Lynn graduated from St. Edmond Catholic High School in 1981 and continued her studies at Iowa State University. After moving to West Des Moines, she dedicated herself to her work at Hillside Elementary School as a principal secretary. Lynn was passionately committed to serving students and families over the course of nearly two decades with Hillside. She strived to make a connection with every student she saw, taking a personal interest in their lives and taking on their lives as part of her own to care for all.

Lynn will be remembered for her quick-witted humor and her unwavering ability to make everyone around her laugh. Her generous and loving soul will be missed deeply by all who were fortunate enough to meet her, but she will live on with her loved ones forever.

Lynn is proceeded in death by her parents, James and Corrine Chambers. She is survived by her daughter, Olivia (fiancé Matthew), as well as her brother, Nicholas (wife Jen and sons Michael and Alex) and her sisters, Julie (husband Kevin and sons Zach and Nick) and Kristi (husband Brian).

In honor of Lynn and her compassionate dedication to helping others, loved ones are encouraged to make a donation to Hillside Elementary School. Donations will be collected at her visitation and will be given directly to the school by her family following the service.

Lynn will be missed dearly, but we know she has found eternal peace and her legacy will carry on through her many loved ones.
