Bill Orr

It is 134 NorthWest Lake Drive Lake Nordon SD 57248

Although the property is on Lake Poinsett the address is Lake Nordon.

Hope this helps.

Bill

I just looked it up and it dosen't show very well. The Goggle car didn't record our drive.

If you find a horseshoe shaped house with a horseshoe shapped drive - We are just South of it but hidden under several trees. It dosen't help but since the photo the trees have been removed. The next shot they take will allow the cabin to be seen in all its glory.

You are in the ball park.

Bill! I think I found you! Are you right on a point and where the road turns sharp around A corner?

03/05/17 06:03 AM #760

Bill Orr

No. I've sent some pictures which will help.

The satellite photo was taken almost two years ago. Since then I have removed 4 large trees so the next satellite photo will clearly show the cabin.

When you look at the photos you can figure the location.

I received an email today from Carole (Narigon) Wilson, letting me know Connie Reid, her sister, lost her son John today. Carole asked me if I'd let everyhone know. It was a shock for the family. I will get an address for Connie & post it so clasmates can send condolences & cards to Connie. I can't imagine what Connie is feeling right now, but I do know her heart is aching deeply. We all need to keep Connie & the whole family in our thoughts & prayers. Bless her heart.

When we were children Connie, Carol, Jimmy Hawtrey and I were play mates. I have known Connie since we were 3 years old. All I can say is that I feel a deep sadness and wish Connie the deepest of empathy for what she is going through. It is the saddest of situations when your child departs before you. I wish you the thought that we are all with you through this difficult period.

Your childhood friend

Bill

So saddened by Connie and her family's loss.  I, too, have great childhood memories of growing up with the "Narigon twins". I had sleepover at their house and even went on family trip with them. We always had so much fun together. My deepest sympathy goes out to all her family. May God bring comfort to them.

I just heard back from Carole, Connie's address is:  Connie Reid 7833 Roundabout Way; Springfield, VA 22153. I hope our class sends condolences to Connie to let her know we are thinking of her right now. It's very hard to loose a spouse, but I can't imagine loosing a child. When Larry passed away, it was very comforting to read encouraging words from classmates on the message forum, plus getting so many nice cards & phone calls.

WOW...can't believe no one has written in the month of April yet...let's get this ball moving everybody!!! I spent about 12 days in TN visiting my youngest daughter Lori. Franklin is always beautiful in April. I love Spring in the Smokies. We've been having lots of rain recenty so the grass is growing fast. My farmer son-in-law hasn't started planting corn yet, but he nevers gets in a hurry in the Spring. Locally, it's somewhat of a contest to see who can get their crops in first. Seems like everyone is in a hurry. It's hurry up & see who has to replant because we got too much rain & the fields got flooded. I've been working in my yard, picking up tons of sticks & a few limbs, cause it's been very windy. Stopped by Walmart today after Easter service to pck up flowers to plant, & they're not out yet. Just herbs & vegetables...guess it's too early & I'm "in a hurry". Bluebirds are here already, though.Lilacs are in bloom & smell so good.

Now, let's hear from someone else. I know Nancy Hays has lots of flowers in her yard...anything in bloom yet, Nancy??

SPRING IS THE BEST...everything is starting anew in God's awesome creation!!!

To bring folks up to date. Have been spending time at our cabin on Lake Poinsett South Dakota.

Fishing has been good and as they say out here "The bite is on".

Rebuilt some steps and took down a lot of brush. I have two JD lawn tractors and both are down. Sent one into the shop and I am working on the other one. Hope to have one operational soon.

Our neighbor just spent a lot of money on a new deck, large dock and a huge pontoon boat. They have also gutted their cabin and are rebuilding it into a show place.

So, we feel compelled to do some work on our's. Really want to put out 60 feet of dock but physically can't handle the work. May have to get a roll in dock like the neighbors.

Keeping busy,

Your classmate,

Bill

Tax Season 2017 is over and 85 extensions are left!  That doesn't mean I have nothing to do for the remainder of 2017.  Seminar travels start May 15 and go thru January 2018.  Then, it is time for Tax Season 2018.  It is my life circle and has been over 32 years.  Again, I proudly say "I LOVE MY LIFE"!

In the next few months, I have seven seminar trips to Las Vegas, one to Reno. one to San Diego and two locally in Orange County, CA.  Lots of frequent flyer miles on Southwest.  The one day seminars start in November, all 25 of them.

I am looking forward to the FMHS Reunion next year in Branson.  I will miss visiting Ft Madison.

The only vacation plans I currently have is a my annual trip to Hawaii for Christmas week with my best friend of 30 years.

I hope everyone has a enjoyable and safe summer.

GOOD MORNING CLASSMATES.....am waiting patiently (not normal for me) for the arrival of my twin Great-granddaughters in Memphis, actually Germantown, TN. Courtney, the Mom-to-be, is on bed rest now. The girls, Tater & Tot are close to 6 lbs. each. Can't imagine as Courtney is small & petite!!! So excited, just wish they lived closer. Just wanted to brag a little.

Wish more people would write an up-date. Its nice to hear what's going on, if there's anything new with each other. If you or a family member are having health issues, let us pray for you/them. Short messages are best...if you have a lot to say...write more often. That's my opinion, for what it's worth. The old saying..."Your opinion & a quarter wont buy a cup of coffee." You can tell how old that saying is.....

Linda...You just go ahead and brag! I know just how excited you are waiting for this big event. I can certainly identify with your excitement as I was blessed with a great grandson ( Remington) last October and a great granddaughter ( Alexis ) this January! When I hold these babies I feel such joy that I'm still alive to do so.  Do keep us posted on their arrival.❤️

Melinda Lang (Bachman)

Congratulations Linda - twin great granddaughters!!!  Wow!  That's hard to believe since I have a 5 year old granddaughter.  So doubt I'll see any great grandchild.  Maybe from my other son's family who live in the UP. Robert is 20, Hunter graduates from high school this year and Lily is 7.  Grandchildren are such a joy!

Brief update - spent March in Florida, spent a weekend at Soaring Eagle Waterpark with my son, Carlene and granddaughter Anna-Louise.  Will be going to Hunter's graduation early June then taking a few days trip to Grand Rapids, MI.  I'm on the board of directors for the condominium which has had me busy with all the activity that transpires in the spring.

CONGRATULAIONS LINDA! I'M WITH MELINDA, I DON'T THINK I WILL EVER SEE ANY GREAT GRANDBABIES SO YOU JUST HUG AND SNUGGLE THOSE NEW LITTLE BUNDLES OF JOY ALL YOU WANT.

I TOO  WONDER WHY PEOPLE DON'T POST ON OUR WEBSITE. SURELY THEY HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY ABOUT THEIR LIVES. I WILL TELL YOU THAT BRAD WIEDMANN POSTED THAT A TORNADO WENT THROUGH CAMERON, WISCONSIN WHERE HE LIVES AND LEFT ONE DEAD BUT THAT HE AND HIS DOG ARE BOTH FINE. THAT WAS A RELIEF, TO SAY THE LEAST.

SO FOR NOW, I AM SIGNING OUT AND I SAY GOODBYE TO ALL YOU CLASSMATES AND PLEASE WRITE HERE ON THIS LINK ON OUR WEBSITE. AGAIN, LINDA, CONGRATULATIONS!!smileykiss

Congrats, Linda!!  you  now have 2 more beautiful girls to spoil.  What fun for you!

JT & I spend time In Fl this winter around Ft. Lauderdale.   It was nice meeting Sharon & Moudy at Everglades City for lunch while we were there.  Went to Grand Bahama for 2 weeks, that is where we spent our birthdays - we are a year and one day apart.  Both April babies.  Now we are back home in Huron.  Yesterday we had the air on and today the fireplace.  Another Spring on Lake Erie - warm one day, cold the next.  The golf league started last week, so I am out there "hacking" again.  Tomorrow night is the Commodore's Ball at HYC.  JT was Commodore twice, so we will be there.

Brad, glad that you and your dog are OK.

Have a wonderful summer, everyone.  Stay safe and be healthy.  Looking forward to seeing everyone in Branson, next year.

Tornado clean up continues in the area. 300 yards across a bay is absolute devastation. I have never seen so much volunteer response.  Lots of logging equipment including cranes. I even saw a fleet of large trucks from West Des Moines hauling logs. Still amazing there was only one fatality. Thanks to all who expressed concern.

I was just informed that my skin cancer has returned. Will under go surgery in the next two weeks. In retrospect, I should have stayed out of the sun when I was living in FM. Viet Nam didn't help either.

Now my granddaughter will have four more holes in my head to spectulate on. although I told her it was lower she insists I got shot between my eyes.

Life goes on - A short two weeks to recuperate and I will be back to normal.

We will spend time at our cabin in SD, visit SE Iowa and tour Yellowstone this year. Also plan a drive around Lake Superior.

Wish you all a happy and busy summer.

Bill

WOW.....great writings on here. Thanks for all the best wishes...Tater & Tot haven't arrived as yet. Which means they are still growing & gaining weight. That's a good thing for them. Dr. wants Courtney to go longer. She told me they're still active, so that means there's still room to grow & gain. Can't imagine...I had 3, but 1 at a time.

Good to hear Marcia is still keeping busy & not slowing down, & enjoying her travels. Looking fwd. to catching up in Branson next year.

Brad...it's hard to imagine or picture the devastation of all the damage a tornado can possibly do just looking at pictures or on TV. You have to be there...but never wish that on anyone. There is something to say for all the people who volunteer to clean up disasters. People just show up & you wonder where they come from. It's unbelievable. So glad you're safe Brad. We want to see you're smiling face in Branson next year.

Judi...glad you're both are back safe & ready to enjoy another summer "on the lake". We enjoyed Lake Erie, too when we lived in Sandusky for several years. The pictures of you & Sharon having lunch in FL were nice to see. Happy Sharon & Moudy are home again, too. It's great that all of you are healthy & able to head south for the winter. Also, Melinda drives down by herself to spend a month...Carole also goes south, but to TX.

Would be nice to hear from other classmates who also go south to spend time where it's warmer during the cold months.....take care everyone.

Mr. Orr.....Sorry to hear you'll be having more surgery soon, but be assured that I will be thinking about & praying for your recovery. I'm sure all who read the forum will also do the same. This is a great place to relay our blessings & our misfortunes, to let fellow classmates know what's happening in our lives, so they can celebrate with us or pray/sympathize with us. We all started out together a long time ago. We've gone our separate ways but SHOULD keep in touch with our friends. Bill, let us know the date of surgery AND how recovery goes...keep us up-to-date please.

TO BILL ORR - WE ALSO WERE SAD TO KNOW THAT YOU MUST GO THROUGH MORE FACIAL/HEAD SURGERIES FOR THOSE AWFUL SKIN CANCERS !!! MY BILL HAS HAD SO MANY MOHS PROCEDURES ON HIS FACE, HEAD AND EARS THAT I AM BEGINNING TO LOSE COUNT !  HE SEES HIS DERMATOLOGIST THE END OF JUNE AND HOPES FOR A CLEAR REPORT - THEN IS SCHEDULED FOR THE "BLUE LIGHTS" IN EARLY OCTOBER, AFTER WE GET BACK FROM OUR NEW ENGLAND SMALL SHIP TRIP (THE MIDDLE 2 WEEKS OF SEPTEMBER).

OUR GRANDDAUGHTERS ARE CERTAINLY KEEPING US BUSY RUNNING UP AND DOWN INTERSTATE 95 TO ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA.  WE JUST GOT BACK SATURDAY EVENING FROM SEEING THE 5TH GRADER, AILA, PERFORM IN THEIR CLASS MUSICAL, "THE LION KING", WHICH WAS AMZING FOR AN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PRODUCTION.  WE WILL GO BACK DOWN JUNE 2 TO SEE BOTH GIRLS IN THEIR DANCE RECITAL ON JUNE 6TH.  THEN WE'LL CATCH A BREAK IN JULY AND HEAD BACK IN EARLY AUGUST TO SEE THE 8 YEAR OLD, TATUM, PERFORM AT THE ALHAMBRA DINNER THEATER IN JACKSONVILLE IN "ANNIE".

MEANWHILE, OUR HOUSE REMAINS UP FOR SALE (SINCE APRIL 1ST) - BUT IN NO BIG HURRY SINCE THEY DON'T BREAK GROUND ON OUR NEW HOUSE IN CYPRESS GLEN IN GREENVILLE, NC UNTIL LATER THIS SUMMER - ESTIMATED COMPLETION DATE FOR THAT IS LATE NEXT SPRING.  SO BILL IS STILL PLAYING GOLF ABOUT 3 TIMES A WEEK AND WE ARE BOTH BUSY AT CHURCH AND IN THE COMMUNITY WITH VOLUNTEER WORK.

I SO ENJOY READING EVERYONE'S MESSAGES ON THIS FORUM - GREAT WAY TO STAY CONNECTED - LOVE THE FACT THAT LYNDA & BILL BOMER HAVE A BRAND NEW GRANDDAUGHTER AND CAN'T WAIT TO HEAR FROM LINDA KIRCHNER SCHROEDER ABOUT THE ARRIVAL OF HER TWIN GREAT-GRANDDAUGHTERS !  EVERYONE STAY WELL AND LIVE EACH DAY TO ITS FULLEST !  DON'T FORGET TO TELL THOSE YOU LOVE HOW MUCH THEY MEAN TO YOU EVERY SINGLE DAY !

HUGS,  SANDY MATTHEWS
